Sea-Trex first hit the water in ‘83, dreamed up by Aussie boat craftsman Alf Stessl. Designed to be affordable and accessible, Sea-Trex helped thousands of Aussies get on the water without blowing the budget.
Now, more than 40 years later, Sea-Trex is gearing up for a fresh chapter.
After five decades in the boat-building world, Alf has retired in 2025 at 82, leaving the business in capable hands. Tim Stessl, with over 30 years in boating, now leads Makocraft and Sea-Trex, celebrating 20 years of Makocraft this year and driving the brands forward with fresh energy and a clear vision.
Tim’s promise? To keep things true to the original Sea-Trex spirit — solid, value-packed boats made to get more Aussies out enjoying the water. With a brand-new factory, cutting-edge hull designs, and the latest tech, the new Sea-Trex range is where classic meets modern.
Alf might be retired, but he’s still in the mix, sharing his top-notch know-how with Tim. And when he’s not, you’ll find him fishing with his grandson Max — just how it should be.
Welcome to Sea-Trex
