SEA-TREX ALLIMINUM HULLS
Sea-Trex aluminium boats are covered under a limited structural warranty based on hull thickness:
Boats with 1.6mm aluminium hulls are covered for 24 months (2 years).
Boats with 3.0mm aluminium hulls or greater are covered for 36 months (3 years).
Additionally, any Sea-Trex hull that includes painted finishes, timber or composite flooring, carpet, or related fit-out components is covered by a limited 12-month cosmetic and fit-out warranty for those specific items.
This warranty operates in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to a repair or replacement if the product fails to meet acceptable quality standards and the issue is not considered a major failure.
WARRANTY CONDITIONS & LIMITATIONS
To maintain warranty coverage, the following conditions must be met:
The boat must be used and maintained in accordance with the Boat Capacity Plate and the manufacturer’s maintenance instructions.
The boat must not be subject to misuse, neglect, collision, or competitive use.
Any unauthorised modifications to the hull, structure, or outboard setup may void the warranty.
Sea-Trex Boats is not liable for consequential loss or damage, including but not limited to towing, travel, accommodation, or time off the water.
Freight and transport costs to and from a service or repair facility are the responsibility of the purchaser.
Paint is covered only for defects in application. Normal fading, oxidisation, wear, or damage caused by solvents or dissimilar metals is not covered.
Timber or carpeted flooring, and other fit-out elements are covered for 12 months against installation defects only. Normal wear and weather exposure are not covered.
Cracks, leaks, or breakage of windscreens, or seals around designed openings, are excluded from warranty.
Components not manufactured by Sea-Trex (e.g. trailers, outboards, electronics) fall under their respective manufacturer warranties.
The boat must be trailered correctly, using a compatible trailer (not wobble or off-road), with proper tie-downs and an engine support bracket. Incorrect trailing will void the warranty.
Installing wedges or anti-ventilation foils may void warranty coverage (refer to trailing clause above).
All repairs must be carried out ex-factory or by an authorised repairer, unless otherwise arranged in writing. Freight to and from the facility is at the purchaser's cost. In some cases, regional dealers may be approved to perform repairs on Sea-Trex’s behalf.
Consumable items and components that wear as part of normal maintenance (e.g. seals, hinges, cables) are not covered.
All warranties implied under the Trade Practices Act, including merchantable quality, apply. However, Sea-Trex limits liability to:
(a) Replacement of the boat or defective component; or
(b) Repair of the boat or defective component –
At Sea-Trex’s discretion, with freight charges at the purchaser’s expense.
This is the sole warranty offered by Sea-Trex Boats. No other express or implied warranties apply, and rights under the Sale of Goods Act are expressly excluded.
COMMERCIAL USAGE
Due to the variable and often extreme nature of commercial use, Sea-Trex Boats does not offer warranty coverage for commercial applications unless approved in writing. Purchasers must assess the product's suitability for any intended commercial use.
